Create Profile

Submit a profile for review

SMATER.ME is using a GitHub-hosted submission form for now. This keeps profile requests fully functional without a separate backend service. Your submission creates a review issue for the SMATER.ME admin. Approved submissions are converted into profile files and published through the normal site workflow.

Current Submission Flow

  1. Open the GitHub submission form.
  2. Complete the profile fields online.
  3. Submit the issue for admin review.
  4. The SMATER.ME admin reviews the request.
  5. When approved, the admin adds the approved-profile label.
  6. GitHub Actions materializes the profile and republishes the site.

What You Need Before Submitting

  • Full name, display name, and preferred profile slug
  • Tagline and short listing description
  • One welcome paragraph
  • Previous work, current work, and interests
  • Public links such as website, GitHub, ORCID, LinkedIn
  • A public profile photo URL
  • Optional public resume links

Current Constraint

Direct uploads are not enabled in the website itself yet. For now, your profile photo must be available at a public image URL, and resume links should also be public URLs if you want them shown on the profile.

External Site Policy

If you link an external personal site, you remain responsible for that content. SMATER.ME is not responsible for linked external websites, but linked sites may be reviewed and removed after serious complaints.

Review Notes

  • Submission does not publish immediately.
  • Admin approval is required before anything goes live.
  • Approved submissions are published as structured Quarto profiles.
  • Published profiles can include a downloadable Quarto starter site.

Admin Action

The GitHub issue created by the submission form is the review record. Admin approval is currently performed by adding the approved-profile label to that issue.
